I'd put it off for quite some time while the knee/ITB was healing, but I finally went for a run this morning. Can't say it was awesome, but it was nice to get some pavement under me once again.
While I only ran a single mile, it was in the 40s outside. So, that certainly made things a bit difficult. Of course, I've been fighting a cold for a few weeks now. Its been getting worse the last couple of days as well. However, I still wanted to get this run in. The legs felt fine. Knees and hips seemed to be a bit twingy, but I think most of that is just not having run much lately.
I did a LOT of farmer blows on that run, and I coughed a LOT. Damn near threw up my pancakes I was coughing so hard. That said, I have to admit, as I sit here in the couch, I feel pretty good. I'm not coughing much and my nasal passages are pretty clear as well. I guess some running did me good!
I did use the roller again. Boy do I "swear" by it. I have realized that rolling my quads is really nice, HOWEVER, dudes... Just a heads up: ANY overshoot on this and you might roll your junk. This is very bad. Dear gawd...
