Halfway, Part I

My last two runs were 3 and 5 miles, respectively.  That 5 mile run, which occurred this morning, marks the halfway point in part one of my marathon training.  I do expect the 2nd the half to go faster, since I won't have to take it soooo slow to baby my ITB back into running shape.

However, oddly enough, there are 8 more weeks left, and 17 weeks in the part II schedule.  That's 25 weeks.  I only have 19 weeks left before my next marathon.  Sheesh.  And I started really early, too.   However, only 8 weeks into the part II schedule, has me running 20 miles.  Thats just 16 weeks...  in the 25 weeks I have left, I can get up to 23 miles, and then have some active rest weeks.  That shall be the plan.  Ryan Hall is a big proponent of training hard right up to a major event.  He doesn't run very long at all for those periods, but the same intensity is there.  I'll be trying to take that approach this year.

I am due to run 4 miles tomorrow, but I might swap a rest day, since I'm pretty sore after today's run.  And, I really need to get the bench on my deck done.
