3 on the road

Ran 3 miles today, on a route I had to make up on the fly. Basically, I'm off at work, and not at home. So, even though it was a fairly industrial area, I still managed to work out a 3 mile run that was pretty decent. Sure was nippy out there.

For those that don't know about it: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/ is a really good site to be able to plan out a run, especially in areas that you're not familiar with.

All in all, the run went pretty well. I started out at a decent relaxed pace, and saw on my sweet new Garmin watch that I was on a 9min/mile pace. Weird, since I used to run 10min/mile pace, but now 9s feel comfy and relaxed. I guess that's a good thing! Anyways, I tried to just hold that pace for 3 miles. Each time I looked, my pace was between 8:58 and 9:01. Crazy.

No ITB issues whatsoever to report. So, all in all, a pretty good run. However, when I got done, I was shakey. Then I realized, all that I had eaten all day was a clif bar. So, I needed calories and needed them fast. I went to the gas station on the corner and found a powerade which was good. However, for food, they had DICK. The place looked big, like it would have a deli inside and everything. No dice. Best thing I could find was a couple of hot pockets. I didn't even bother looking at the label. I didn't want read how much fat and cholesterol I was going to eat. I housed both hot pockets. I needed food no matter what it was. Oh well. Better those than nothing.
