Back on schedule?

Not certain if I am, but things are sure looking that way. The 5 mile run was a good one, followed by a rest day. Now, I ran another 4 and I don't really have any complaints. Not from the ITB anyways.

The tready was as good as it can be. Found a channel that was showing Road House. That was good. Caught the last 1/3 of it I guess. Kinda crazy to think Patrick Swayze is gone. I guess just another reason that cancer scares the shit out of me. After that, I found the last 20 mins of The Rock. Again, pretty entertaining. Good to run to.

In fact, I overran my distance because I was caught up watching the end scenes, when I glanced down and saw I had past 4 miles... I guess that's not a bad thing, all in all.

I found a way to ice the knee while on the road. (pictured above) There's an ice machine down the hall, and I have some zip-locks I keep toiletry items in. I just filled it with ice, used a towel to hold it to my knee, and voila! Is it cold? Yes. Does it leak? Yes. Will it work well enough? Definitely.

One thing I will keep doing is icing the knee after a run. I haven't had any discomfort out of it in a while, which is really awesome. For a bit there, I really thought I wouldn't ever be able to get anywhere with it. Looks like it was just "almost" ready at that time. Another rest day, and then another 4 miles. If I can get 3 solid runs in like that during a week, with no ITB issue, then I should be good to go. I'll still be taking great care, no doubt. But, I'll continue on schedule and set my sights on a 10 miler, a half-marathon, and the big one. The full marathon.
